The first glorious day of spring
Invites each soaring heart to sing
It calls me to come out and play
This lovely bright Seattle day
The azure sky, the warm crisp air
The clouds have ribbons in their hair
The trees are clothed with soft new leaves
And I am wearing no long sleeves!
Mountains call to distant hills
Cats adorn the windowsills
Azalea blooms and tulip fields
Oh what promise this day yields
After months of winter gray
We relish such a grand display
A change from cold and dreary drizzle
Spring builds a bridge to summer sizzle.
