Petrified

statuary

She stands,
A solitary pillar of salt
Upon the plain.
Looking back
Instead of moving forward
A hundred
Bright ideas
Hang about her neck
Like a millstone
She is smothered
By the weight
Of impossible dreams

      • Keep at it. I read quite a bit and your poems are really quite beautiful. I hope you know that. I too, have a very supportive family – lots of folks that help you along the way. My family always tell me how great my art is or my writing (especially my mom 🙂 ) I love her dearly but it’s nice to hear from others with no genetic bonds – so you just keep at it because your talents will only blossom even more.
